17th Asean+ Age Group Open Chess Championships 2016 meets GM: Simul Match

Hoping that the junior players who join the tournament have a chance to meet their favorite chess star, and inspiring  them to improve their chess skills, the organizers had gotten a very big surprise feature for all participants, by arranging two “Simultaneous Chess” sessions by Asia’s first Grand Master – “GM Eugene Torre” from the Philippines.

The first Simul match took on 30 junior players from ASEAN and the regions around us; China, Japan, India, New Zealand, and Kyrgyzstan.  By courtesy of GM Eugene Torre, he provides 2 matches for junior players to battle with him. He hoped that his little contribution will help in some ways  grow and enhance the chess community in the region.
